Rim to River and Back…and Why You Need to Say YES

When I hiked to the base of the Grand Canyon and back up to the South Rim in April 2015, at age 39, it wasn’t supposed to be about me. It was about my dad, recently turned 74, and his lifelong dream to descend to the Colorado River and back up again before he died…and while he was still physically able to do it. Against my mother’s protests, I took it upon myself to make sure he got his wish.
